The country between the coast and the mountains is
characterized by its natural diversity. It is a wild and ever-changing landscape with
great forest lands and mountains, small, beautiful ponds and mighty lakes.
The trails
through them are sometimes rugged and sometimes you have to be tough to conquer them.For
those of us who live here, the snowmobile is our greatest pleasure in winter. It is also a
workhorse that helps us care for our unique natural surroundings and our magnificent
forests.

If you choose to go by dogsled drawn by 8 to 10 eager and willing dogs that run so fast
that the snow swirls around the sled and prickles your face with ice
crystals, then you
will get the entire exhilarating thrill of winter all in one package.
Suddenly a reindeer or moose swishes across the trail, maybe even a wolf, lynx or
bear.
Oh
well – it’s not all that easy, but even if your don’t see them in real
life, we know that they are around us because of all the tracks they leave behind
them.
This especially true toward the middle of April when winter is coming to its end.

MONDAY:
Snowmobile ride from Umeå to Ekorrsele, ca 95 km. A break for food, coffee, and
fishing.
Your overnigt stay is at Forsknäckarna's home base in Vikheden, Ekorrsele. |
TUESDAY:
Breakfast, dogsled run, lunch, and ice fishing. Sauna and wood.heated hot tub. Dinner in
the Kåta (tent-like Lappish building) and an overnight stay in a hut.
WEDNESDAY:
Breakfast and on with the snowmobile safari between Ekorrsele and Vjormsele, about 80 km.
Outdoor lunch. Dinner and an overnight stay in
Vormsele Stugby in a four-bed cabin.

THURSDAY:
Breakfast and a snowmobile ride from Vormsele to Sorsele, about 80 km. Dinner and an
overnight say at Hotell Gästis.
FRIDAY:
Breakfast and a snowmobile ride from Sorsele to Ammarnäs, about 90 km. Outdoor lunch.
Dinner at Hotell Ammarnäsgården. Sauna and lodging.

skiing.
Back to the hotel for dinner and dance.
